All the sessions from the Microsoft Ignite 2016 conference were recorded and are being put up online for free, on-demand streaming. There are hundreds of sessions overall on every technology in the Microsoft stack. It’s a very large amount of content to sift through, so I thought I would put together a showcase of just the Internet of Things (IoT) sessions from Ignite.

About the Speaker

Arjmand Samuel is a Principal Program Manager at Microsoft, working in the Microsoft Azure Internet of Things team. In his current role, Arjmand is involved in the design and development of Microsoft Azure IoT Suite, a cloud-based offering with preconfigured solutions that address common Internet of Things scenarios. In his previous role, Arjmand led external academic collaborations around devices and services research for Microsoft Research, where he developed programs and research initiatives to harness the power of the Internet of Things. He has published in a variety of publications on topics of security, privacy, location aware access control and innovative use of mobile technology. Arjmand has a bachelor’s degree in avionics engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan; a master’s degree in control engineering from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, China; and a PhD in Information Security from Purdue University, USA.

Microsoft Certification Changes and Goodbye to MCSD Azure Solutions Architect

Both Fall and Spring time each year mark times when Microsoft normally announces changes to the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) program. It was 2 years ago they started releasing the Azure certification exams (70-532, 70-533, and 70-534) and in Spring 2015 they announced if you take all 3 you’ll earn the MCSD: Azure Solutions Architect certification. Today, coinciding with the Microsoft Ignite 2016 conference, there are some broader changes to the MCP program being announced. 9:00 AM EDT – Microsoft Ignite Keynote

Technology continues to rapidly grow, offering us new ways of working and empowering digital transformation for all organizations. Key to our ability to harness technology is our ability to evolve with it, to harness new capabilities and learn new skills. Join Scott Guthrie, Executive Vice President, Microsoft; on Monday morning to start Microsoft Ignite. Scott will focus on how technology enables digital transformation and, along with guests, demonstrate new technologies. He will also discuss how IT is transforming and detail investments and programs to help enable this.

You can watch the keynote in person in the Phillips Arena, (please arrive in sufficient time to pass through security at the Arena).
